St Georges Hospital was opened in the year 1733. The Medical School was established 1834 in Kinnerton Street and was incorporated into the hospital in 1868. The University has two main faculties: Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, and Health and Social Care Sciences. The faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences offers courses which include medical sciences, cardiac and vascular sciences, clinical developmental studies, cellular and molecular medicine, community health sciences, mental health and the center for medical and healthcare education.
