Research is a strong driving force within the University, and this was demonstrated by the University’s recent success in its Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) 2008. The exercise confirmed the academic ambitions of the University as a research-based institution, with more than two thirds of the research submitted being recognised as having world-leading elements.
