Facilities
Academic facilities
At the School of Engineering and Digital Arts students have access to the latest, state-of-the-art, facilities. Engineering students benefit from a new engineering laboratory suite, extensive computer rooms, PCB/surface mount fabrication facilities and a well-equipped mechanical workshop. The mechanical workshop is staffed with skilled mechanical engineers who can undertake mechanical design, prototyping and production.
The School has numerous software tools for circuit simulation and design, including Orcad, Xilinx, Labview and Matlab. The experimental laboratories and workshops offer sophisticated facilities such as surface-mount prototyping, biometric test and evaluation, mechanical design and fabrication, and antenna design.
Student Placements
Students on all the undergraduate degree programmes have the option to spend one year in industry. Students attend university for two years then spend the third year of the course out on placement, before returning for their final year of study. Students not only gain valuable industrial experience, but also the possibility of a graduate job offer at the end of their placement.
Accommodation facilities
On-campus accommodation is offered to all new students for their first year of study, providing the University's admissions criteria are met. In addition, the University also assists students who may need to make arrangements to find off-campus housing in the private sector.
